How to Cook Prime Rib Using a Rotisserie

We're going to be cooking a delicious 4 lb boneless prime rib on a Lynx Grill using the rotisserie feature.

Here’s what you will need to make a delicious, flavourful prime rib:

  • 4 lb boneless prime rib
  • Equal parts about 3 tsp
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Sugar
  • Ground coffee

Method:

Take the prime rib out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about an hour.

Preheat the Lynx Grill to high heat.

In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, sugar, and ground coffee to make the seasoning rub.

Rub the seasoning mixture all over the prime rib, making sure to coat it evenly.

Insert the rotisserie rod through the center of the prime rib and secure it with the rotisserie forks.

Turn on the rotisserie motor and place the prime rib on the grill, making sure that it is balanced and centered. Make sure to place a drip tray under your roast to prevent unwanted flair ups.

Close the lid of the grill and let the prime rib cook for about 15 minutes per pound, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

Check the internal temperature of the prime rib with a meat thermometer. For medium rare, the internal temperature should be between 130°F and 135°F.

Once the prime rib is cooked to your liking, turn off the rotisserie motor and carefully remove the prime rib from the grill.

Let the prime rib rest for about 10 minutes before carving and serving.
